Image analysis and quantification
You are here:
Task
- Quantification of immunohistochemically stained slides (Ki-67) using image analysis algorithms.
Aim
- Quantify the amount of Ki-67-positive tumor cells
- Handover a list of cells (cell type, position, positivity)
Material
- Breast cancer tissue micro array (TMA)
- Stained for nuclear proliferation marker Ki-67 (DAPI)
- Spots with different Ki-67-index (between 0% and 40%) and different malignancy grade were selected
General Conditions
- All participants get the identical slide and deliver the corresponding WSI during the scanner contest (Participants get the possibility to receive test WSI / test slide 4 weeks before the scanner test)
- TMA spots may be selected manually or automatically
- Results have to be reported as an Excel-sheet with cell type and Ki-67 positivity for each single cell of every spot
- Time limit of 60 min for the entire test
Evaluation Criteria
- Within 20 spots, selected to be representative with respect to malignancy and Ki-67-positivity rectangular regions have been defined for evaluation
- Mean deviation D of all deviations between estimated Ki-67 index xi and predetermined Ki-67-index Xi , will be used for the evaluation
